STATHAM – Willie Mae Gasaway, 97, died Sunday, March 22, 2009.
Born in Hall County, she was the daughter of the late James Madison and Gordia Savannah Deaton Long. She was the last of 10 children, was the oldest living member of Bethabara Baptist Church, and was a homemaker and farmer. Mrs. Gasaway was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Sanders Gasaway; and a son, Merle Kress Gasaway.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Barbara Gasaway, Statham; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 24, at 2 p.m., at Smith Memory Chapel. Burial will be in Bethabara Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, March 23, from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
