Grace Martin

GAINESVILLE – Grace Latty Martin, 94, died Friday, March 20, 2009, at Autumn Breeze Assisted Living Home following an extended illness.

Born on May 15, 1914, in Hall County, she was the daughter of the late Neal and Lizzie Williams Hawkins. She was a member of Timberidge Baptist Church. Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by husbands, J.T. Latty and N.C. Martin; daughter, Susie Latty Smith; stepson, Charles Martin; sisters, Wilma Hawkins and India Dunagan; and brothers, A.C. and Arnie Hawkins.

Survivors include sons and families, John Latty, Gainesville, and Oneal Latty, Blue Ridge; son-in-law and family, Donald Smith, Gainesville; stepsons and families, Lewis Martin, Buford, Ronny Martin, Chestnut Mountain; and stepdaughter-in-law and family, Christine Martin, Alto.

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 22, at Timberidge Baptist Church with the Revs. Chris York and Alvin Burns officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville, was in charge of arrangements.
