COMMERCE - Geneva K. Nix, 83, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Armins and Tressie Powers Kesler. She was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church and was a retired loan officer. Mrs. Nix was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Nix.
Survivors include her husband, Wilson Nix, Commerce; son, Tommy Nix, Nicholson; daughters, Brenda Woodall and Rita Wilson, both of Commerce; sister, Helen Brewer, Commerce; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 20, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Revs. Charles Taylor and Bobby Ivester officiating. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Gardens.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.

Geneva was a wonderful lady. I have known her most of my life. My family always did business with her at the bank. My heart goes out to her family. My prayers are with you.
