COMMERCE – James W. Ward, 85, died Thursday, Marcy 19, 2009, at BJC Medical Center in Commerce.
Born in Banks County, he was the son of the late Roscoe and Lillie Mae Wilson Ward. He was a member of Madison Street Baptist Church, was a member of the Hudson Lodge #294 F & AM, retired from Roper Pump Company, and was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Eloise Evans Ward, Commerce; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Bill Davis and Brenda and Jimmy Puckett, all of Commerce; brother, Robert E. Ward, Loganville; grandsons, Greg Davis, Warner Robins, Derrick Davis, Homer, and Brad Puckett, Jefferson; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 21, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Revs. Stuart Lang and David Harbin officiating. Burial will be in Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, March 20, from 6 to 8 p.m.
