LULA – William Rex Oliver, 73, died Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, following a sudden illness.
He was the son of the late Loy and Anna Oliver. He was a member of Calvery Cross Baptist Church, was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation, and was a veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include a brother, B.L. Oliver, Alto; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Clifton Wingo, Gainesville, and Darlene and David Evans, Lula.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 18, at 2 p.m., in Calvery Cross Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Orr officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, March 17, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m.
Strickland Funeral Home, Clermont, is in charge of arrangements.
