WINDER - Robert Sylvester Cain, 82, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009.
Born in Oklahoma City, Okla., he was the son of the late Clyde T. and Ruth Williams Cain. A member of Winder First Baptist Church, he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic until his retirement and was co-owner of Wicker Hut Antiques. Mr. Cain served in the Navy during World War II. He loved to spend his summers in Highlands, N.C., loved ones stated.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Bobbie Cain, Winder; sons and daughters-in-law, Barry and Janis Cain, Gainesville, Mike and Donna Cain, and Bob and Lori Cain, all of Winder; grandchildren, Sean Cain, Hannah and Grant Peppers, Codie and Melanie Couch, Catherine and Michael Martin, and Rob, Steven and Annie Cain; and great-grandchildren, Catelynn Couch, Henry Couch, Gracie Lynn Martin and Avery Claire Peppers.
Memorial services were held Friday, March 13, at 11 a.m., from Smith Memory Chapel, with the Rev. John Talley officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
