AUBURN - Michael Rico, 47, died Saturday, February 28, 2009.
Born in Cd. Juarez Chich, Mexico, he was the son of the late Pablo Rico and Clementina Rico Garcia. He was a veteran of Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm, serving in the Air Force as a Technical Sergeant. Mr. Rico was a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and Micah Cooper, Athens; and daughter Elicabeth Rico, Warner Robins; brothers Carlos Rico, Rockford, Ill., Pablo Rico, Escondido, Calif., Jesus Rico, Rockford, Ill., Alejandro Rico and Jose Rico, both of El Paso, Texas, Manuel Rico, Jacksonville, N.C.; sisters, Irma Rico, Aurora, Ill., Mercedes Rico Garcia, Belvedere, Ill., Bertha Rico, El Paso, Texas, and Lupe Rico, Rockford, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 3, at 11 a.m., at Smith Memory Chapel, with Father Carlos Bustamante officiating. Burial will be in Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, at 2 p.m.. The family will receive friends Monday, March 2, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
