Michael Smith

STATHAM – Michael Bernard Smith, 37, died Sunday, February 22, 2009.

Born on May 17, 1971, he was the son of John Smith of Athens and Mary Lindsay (Arnold) of Statham. He attended Winder Barrow High School in Winder, after which he worked at McLane Distribution Center.

Survivors in addition to his parents, include a daughter, Amber Smith; grandparents, George and Louise Barnett, Statham; brothers and sister-in-law, Wayne Edward and Carlton Lanier and Kathy Smith, all of Statham; nephews, Kantravious, Zachery and Anthony Smith, Statham; and a niece, Erin, all of Statham; aunts, Artelia Jackson (Elton), Athens, and Ollie Mae Rittenberry (Edward), Ashton, Tenn.; uncle, Curtis Camp Jr. (Shirley), Athens; a host of other relatives and friends; and a special devoted friend, Michelle “Sissy” Peters.

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 26, at Fairfield Baptist Church with Pastor S. Watkins Sr. and Minister A. Lipscomb officiating.
Eberhart & Son Mortuary, Winder, was in charge of arrangements.
