GAINESVILLE – Franklin Curtis Gaddis, 71, died Monday, February 23, 2009, at his residence following an extended illness.
Born on June 24, 1938, in Hall County, he was the son of the late Roscoe and Cordelia Smith Gaddis. He lived in Gainesville all his life and worked at Gainesville Mill, Milliken Mill and Chicopee Mill. Mr. Gaddis was preceded in death by one sister; and one brother.
Survivors include a daughter, Dedrah Gaddis, Gainesville; sons, Curtis Gaddis, Cleveland, and Timothy Gaddis, Lula; grandchildren, Samatha Gaddis, Anthony Gaddis, Lonzo Bryan, Brooke Gaddis and Steven Gaddis; great-grandsons, Jacob Steed and Jrayke Bryan; two sisters; and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 26, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Perry Smith officiating. Burial will be in Chestnut Mountain Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 25, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
