Hebert Hayes Sr

TALMO — Herbert Wayne Hayes Sr., 72, passed away Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Hayes was born on September 15, 1936 in Louisville, Ky., to the late Odie Hayes and Pearline Zackery Hayes. He was retired as a self-employed painter and Baptist.

Mr. Hayes is survived by his wife, Betty Hayes of Talmo; daughters, Patricia Thomas of California, Beverly Van of Kentucky, Shirley Nokes of Kentucky, Helen Hayes of Talmo and Pamela Watt of Gainesville; sons, H. Wayne Hayes Jr., of Florida and Thomas Hayes of South Carolina; father-in-law, Robert Bischoff of Kentucky; 24 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Tom Plank will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, Feb. 23, from 2–4 p.m., and 7–9 p.m., at the funeral home.
