Johnnie Newell

BRASELTON — Johnnie Newell, 65, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

Mrs. Newell was born November 25, 1943 in Hall County to John Glenn Turk and Etta Eoline Woody Turk. She was a homemaker and a member of Chestnut Mountain Baptist Church, but attended Chicopee Baptist Church.

Mrs. Newell is survived by her husband, Gene L. Newell, Braselton; son and daughter-in-law, Gary Glenn and Kim Newell, Braselton; grandson, Josh Newell, Braselton; and her mother, Etta Eoline Turk, Braselton.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Phil Carpenter will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
