ROYSTON — Nola Paige James, 19, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009.
Miss James was born in Clarke County on March 27, 1989, and was the daughter of Chris and Linda James, Athens, and Cindy Atkinson James, Royston. She was a patient representative, having worked with the Ty Cobb Health Care Center, Hartwell, and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church.
Miss James was a 2007 graduate of Franklin County High School, where she was a member of the yearbook staff, the art society, and was a member of the varsity football and varsity basketball cheerleading squads.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include: brother, Christopher O’Neal James Strickland, Athens; sister, Kristan James, Royston; grandparents, Billy and Brenda Atkinson, Royston, and Dollie Ivie James, Athens.
She was preceded in death by: grandmother, Eleanor Atkinson; grandfather, Henry Grady (Snooks) James; and uncles, Randy Sartain and Jeff James.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 4 p.m., at the Franklin Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Frank Bearden, Rev. Randy Adams and Rev. David Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Royston. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will be placed in the church at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
