Margaret Watkins

Margaret Susie Crowe Watkins, 75, of Gainesville, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at the Bell Minor Nursing Home in Gainesville, following an extended illness.

Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Crowe and Edna Duncan Eberhardt. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and was retired from Dixie Bearing Company.

Survivors include her husband, Loy Watkins, Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Lesley “Cotton” and Myra Watkins, Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Lila and Leroy Couch, Toccoa; brother-in-law, Bradford Watkins, Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Ada Mae Watkins, Cornelia; sisters-in-law, Virginia Watkins, Gainesville, and Freida Watkins, Athens; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 14, at 1 p.m., in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Wales and Scott Ledbetter officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, June 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
