Joe Turpin

MAYSVILLE – Joe G. Turpin, 79, died Thursday, February 19, 2009, at St. Mary’s Hospice House.

Born in Hall County, he was the son of the late Gene and Lillie Ball Taylor Turpin. He was a carpenter and a United States Army Veteran.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Katina Turpin, Maysville, Cary “Fuzz” and Rokie Turpin, Commerce; daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Joel Watkins, and Marie and Jason Chambers, all of Homer; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 21, at 2 p.m., at Diamond Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Elmer Maddox officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
