CLARKESVILLE – Anthony B. “Tony” Dixon, 67, died Monday, February 16, 2009, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born on August 28, 1941, in Habersham County, he was the son of the late Charlie L. Dixon and Mildred Dixon Strait. He was a member of the Union Grove Congregational Holiness Church and a member of RSES (Refrigeration Engineer Society). He was founder of Dixon-McCollum Heating and Air. Mr. Dixon was preceded in death by brothers, Haven Dixon and Allen Dixon.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Merck Dixon, Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law, Leanne and Scott Andrews, Carnesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Susan Dixon, Cleveland, Charlie and Joy Dixon, Clarkesville; sister, Elaine Gerrell, Royston; brother, David Dixon, Clarkesville; sister-in-law, Rosemary Dixon, Clayton; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m., at Union Grove Congregational Holiness Church with the Rev. Paul Flynn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 2 to 9 p.m.
