ALTO – Johnny Woodrow Watson, 66, died Friday, February 13, 2009, following injuries received in an auto accident.
Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Woodrow Poe and Eunice Watson. He was a welder, a member of The Masters Table Church, and a veteran having served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Watson was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Allen Watson.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Johnny Edward and Melissa Watson, Alto; brother, Fred Elrod, Gainesville; sister, Sandra Ann Dove, Gainesville; fiancé, Rethil Allison, Alto; grandchildren, Brittany, Brandy and Cheyenne Watson, and Nikki Lee; great-grandchildren, Serenity Lee and Johnny Edward Watson II; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 16, in the chapel of Wards Funeral Home with the Revs. Tommy Ross and Steve Dyer officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Wards Funeral Home, Gainesville, was in charge of arrangements.
