CORNELIA - Gladys Dodd Crocker, 91 died Sunday, February 15, 2009, at Habersham County Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born in Habersham County on October 12, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Cloffy Lynch Dodd. She was a homemaker and of the Holiness faith. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening, loved ones added. She was preceded in death by her husband, Odis William Crocker; brother, Monroe Dodd; sisters, Lois Crocker, Bernice Owensby, Nellie Thomas, Evelyn Murray and Betty Hulsey.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and Roger Shirley, Mt Airy, Virginia and the Rev. Avery Mote, Alto, Frances and W.J. Clark, Mt Airy; son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Joyce Crocker, Cornelia; sister Sue Standridge, Baldwin; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 18, from the Baldwin Congregational Holiness Church with the Revs. Avery Mote, Bill Trotter, and Sanford Kimbrell officiating. Burial will be at the Level Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. on Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday.
