CORNELIA – Horace Carlton Wilson, 69, died Friday, February 13, 2009, at his residence.
Born in Habersham County on March 10, 1939, he was the son of the late George and Olivia Kelly Wilson. He attended the Demorest Church of God, was a United States Navy Veteran, and was retired from Fleming Food Service after 30 years of dedicated service. Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Imogene Sinnemon Wilson; step-mother, Dorothy Wilson; son, William Darryl Wilson; brothers, Lamar Wilson, Buck Wilson, Roy Wilson; and a sister, Mary Trotter.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Jim Bell, Clarkesville; sons and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Teresa Wilson, Alto, and Jeff Wilson, Demorest; sisters, Martha Heaton and Carol Wilson, both of Demorest; brother, Tommy Wilson, Cleveland; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 16, at Whitfield Funeral Home with the Rev. William Cox officiating. Burial was in the Yonah Memorial Gardens.
Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, was in charge of arrangements.
