TOOMSBORO – Woody Davis, 90, died Sunday, February 8, 2009, following an extended illness.
Born on May 24, 1918, in Bogart, he was the son of the late Haden and Fannie Davis. He was retired from Springhill Services and was a United States Army veteran during World War II. He was also a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Embry Davis.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Davis Bray (Rubin), Toomsboro; granddaughter, Elizabeth Bray, Toomsboro; “special son”, Brooks A. Snider Jr. (Karen), Milledgeville; brother, Cecil Davis (Jean), Sparta; sisters-in-law, Kathryn Embry, Thompson, and Shirley Embry, Winder; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 10, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Moores Funeral Home. Burial will be in Nunn-Wheeler Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Building Fund of Macedonia Baptist Church, McIntyre, Georgia.
Moores Funeral Home, Milledgeville, is in charge of arrangements.
