John Gregory

PENDERGRASS – John Henderson Gregory Jr., 73, died Wednesday, February 4, 2009.

Born in Bluefield, W. Va., he was the son of the late John H. Gregory Sr. and Letha Mae Russell Gregory. He worked as a truck driver with Marten Transport Service, and was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during the Korean War in the 82nd Airborne. Mr. Gregory was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Shephard; and a brother, Kermit Gregory.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Pruitt Gregory, Pendergrass; sons, Robert Gregory, Charleston, S.C., Tommy Pruitt, Ricky Pruitt, Tony Pruitt, all of Pendergrass, and John H. Gregory III, Phoenix, Ariz.; daughters, Nancy Gregory, Debbie Geiger and Tammy Larson, all of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters, Gloria King and Ruth Wright, both of Orlando, Fla.; Joyce Shrader, Bluefield, W. Va.; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, February 6, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home.

Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, was in charge of arrangements.
