ATHENS – Horace G. “Cat” Logan, 83, died Tuesday, February 3, 2009.
Born on February 4, 1926, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Ferd and Lillie Arnold Logan. He was a lifelong native of Clarke and Jackson Counties, and formerly owned and operated Logan’s Texaco in Athens. He was of Christian faith, and was preceded in death by brothers, Millard Logan and Hubert Logan; and sisters, Alice Tate and Annie White.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Cindy Logan, Canton; daughters and son-in-law, Dale Logan Ross, Comer, Lori and Frank Del Nero, Mountainhome, Pa.; grandchildren, Robbie, Nikki, William and Jonathan Logan, Erin Ross; brother, Herbert Logan, Athens; sisters, Alwayne Wood, Tucker, Aldine Marden, Athens, and Hilda Bowman, Bogart.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 6, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Purcell officiating. Burial will be in the Attica Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Raymond Marden, Matt Marden, Luke Marden, Gene Nixon, Ricky Wills and Ryan Wills.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Attica Baptist Church, 4352 Lebanon Church Rd., Athens, GA 30607.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.
