James Clifford Spivey, 65, of Braselton, died Friday, May 9, 2008.
A native of Gwinnett County, he spent most of his life in the Gainesville area, and was the son of the late James and Jesse Mae Chronic Spivey. He was a member of Mercy’s Call Fellowship Church and was retired from the City of Gainesville after 27 years of service. Mr. Spivey was preceded in death by a son, William J. Spivey; and a sister, Frances Spivey.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Hulsey Spivey, Braselton; sons and daughters-in-law, the Rev. Franklin J. Spivey and Donna Spivey, Talmo, Eric R. Spivey, Braselton, Jody M. and Amanda Spivey, Commerce; grandchildren, Franklin James Spivey II, James Edgar Spivey, Drake Dean Benton, Aidan Anthony Millward, Kesiah Olivia Spivey, Breyen William Spivey and Price Avery Spivey; sisters and brother-in-law, Elizabeth Grindle and Linda and Lamar Saine, all of Braselton, Christine Spivey, Gainesville; mother-in-law, Louise M. Hulsey.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 12, at Mason and Ward Funeral home with the Revs. Frank Spivey and Ernest Carlile officiating. Burial was in Alta Vista Cemetery.
