CANON – Jason Lee “J.L.” Millsaps, 43, died Friday, January 30, 2009, at his residence.
Born in Swain County, N.C., on May 27, 1965, he was the son of Berlin Millsaps of Canon and the late Joan Peck Mikuski. He worked with Tenneco Automotive in Hartwell, and was a member of Canon Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Toni Bennett Millsaps, Canon; son, Jake Millsaps, Canon; daughter, Ashley Millsaps, Canon; brother, Kenneth Millsaps, Canon; sisters, Lynn Millsaps, Canon, and Diane Atkinson, Royston.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 3, at 2 p.m., at the Canon Baptist Church with Fred Greenway, the Revs. Roger Hardy and Eldon Massey officiating. Burial will be in Bowers Memorial Gardens in Canon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, is in charge of arrangements.
