J.S. Hall

STATHAM - J.S. Hall, 87, died Saturday, January 31, 2009.

Born in Banks County, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Allen Bond and Ada Murray Hall. He was a member of Statham United Methodist Church, a member and past Master of Statham Masonic Lodge #634. Mr. Hall retired in 1984 after 25 years of service with Southland Life Insurance Company.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Laurene Luke Hall; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Keith McElroy, Lexington; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Anne Hall, Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Ashley McElroy Gay, Jeff Hall, and Angie McElroy; great-grandson, Austin Gay.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 3, at 11 a.m., at Smith Memory Chapel, with the Rev. Brent Gilstrap officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Statham United Methodist Church.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
