Larry Vernon Puckett, 64, of Talmo, died Monday, June 9, 2008, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, following a sudden illness.
Born in Gwinnett County, he was the son of the late Alton Vernon and Frances Mardell Buice Puckett. He was retired from General Motors, but was presently working with the United States Post Office. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army. Mr. Puckett was preceded in death by father-in-law, James McNeal; brothers-in-law, Bill McNeal, Ray Hooper and Winston McNeal.
Survivors include his wife, Martha McNeal Puckett; daughters, Linda Denise Puckett and Lisa Puckett Bagwell; granddaughter, Katie Denise Bagwell; sisters and brother-in-law, Shirley and Junior Ledford, Betty Puckett, Catherine and Ralph Savage; sisters-in-law, Shirley McNeal, Loretta Hooper and Louise McNeal; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 12, at 3 p.m., in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Revs. Jeff Gailey and Scott Reese officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, June 11, from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
