Kathryn Payne

HOMER – Kathryn Wood Payne, 83, died Thursday, January 22, 2009, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Odessa Poole Wood. She was a member of Bethany Christian Church and was retired from Blue Bell. Mrs. Payne was preceded in death by her husband, John William Payne.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Donna Payne and Ben and Yvonne Payne, all of Homer; sister, Evelyn Lewallen, Baldwin; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 25, at 2 p.m., at Bethany Christian Church with Bill Moody officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. and also 6 to 8 p.m.
