BANKS COUNTY - Jennie Lou Bellamy Poole, 84, died Monday, January 19, 2009, at BJC Medical Center, following an extended illness.
Born in Banks County on January 14, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Alonzo Randolph and Myrtie Osborn Bellamy. She was retired from Short’s Manufacturing and was a lifetime member of Nail’s Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and was an avid crossword puzzle worker, loved ones added. Mrs. Poole was preceded in death by her husband, John Bruce Poole; sister, Elise Ward; and brother, Lloyd Bellamy.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Aaron, Toccoa; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth Poole, Roger and Alice Pool, all of Toccoa, Ralph Poole, Atlanta; Larry and Bernice Poole, Alto; sisters, Evelyn Frady and Shirley Merck, both of Gainesville, and Thelma Williams, Cornelia; brothers, Ralph Bellamy, Carnesville, and Harold Bellamy, Gainesville; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 22, from Nail’s Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Harold Rogers and Roy Rogers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with the Rev. Duane Eller officiating. Mrs. Poole will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday to lie in state until the funeral hour. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday. The family is at the residence.
