GAINESVILLE - Ronnie Winfred Grizzle, 48, died Monday, January 19, 2009, following a sudden illness.
Born December 22, 1960, in Gainesville, he was the son of Junior Winfred Grizzle and Ila Mae Smith Grizzle of Gainesville and lived all his life in Hall County. He was an Associate Pastor at Oakwood Church of God, where he was instrumental in designing the sanctuary and other new additions of the church. He taught the adult Sunday school class and trained workers for the church. He was a worship leader and was an advocate in visiting the sick, and loved Oakwood Church of God, where he gave much of his time and services for the work of the Lord.
Mr. Grizzle was preceded in death by his two children.
Survivors in addition to his parents, include his wife of 21 1/2 years, Tammy Grizzle, Gainesville; son, Kyle Grizzle, Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law Pastor Michael and Angela Grizzle, Gainesville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Steve Lott, Humble, Texas, Lisa and Ricky Marlow, Gainesville, Angie and Mark Vandiver, Lula; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Grady and Linda Roberts, Gainesville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Janet and Jack Crowder, Gainesville, Christy and Scott Cramer, Dawsonville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Joey and Connie Roberts of Gainesville, Freddy and Teresa Roberts, Gainesville; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Oakwood Church of God on Wednesday, January 21, at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Michael Grizzle, the Revs. Mark Vandiver, Jerry Reynolds and Zach Watson will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday and Tuesday, January 19 and 20, from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
