TIGER – Mel Moore, 65, formerly of Cornelia, died Saturday, January 17, 2009.
Born in Salisbury, N.C., on September 16, 1943, he was the son of the late Joe Webb and Louise Phillips Moore. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Michael Moore.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Moore, Tiger; sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Nokie Moore, Cornelia, Chris and Lisa Moore, Demorest, and Lynn and Christy Moore, Batesville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan and Tommy Clark, Ellenboro, N.C., and Lisa and Reggie Teal, Fayetteville, N.C.; brother and sister-in-law, David and Dixie Moore, Cornelia; grandchildren, Darrell Moore, Jessica Moore, Jennifer Moore and Brelyn Moore.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a fund will be set up in his name at Habersham Bank.
Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, is in charge of arrangements.
