CORNELIA – Nannie “Nina” Monk, 84, died Monday, January 19, 2009.
Born on June 30, 1924, in Banks County, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Mary Ette Strange Osborne. She was a member of Hillside Baptist Church. Before retirement, she was employed by Ingles as a baker and was a Wal-Mart greeter. Ms. Monk was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a son, Andy Monk, Demorest; sister, Bernice Westbrook, Cornelia.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 21, at 2 p.m., at Whitfield Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Harris officiating. Burial will be in the Nails Creek Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, is in charge of arrangements.
