Mildred Parten

WINDER - Mildred Parten, 92, died Friday, January 16, 2009.

Born in Barrow County, she was the daughter of the late Grady and Gertrude Harrison Adcock. A member of Corinth Methodist Church, she was a retired seamstress with Carwood Manufacturing Company. Mrs. Parten was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Gordon Parten.

Survivors include sons, Larry Parten, Winder, and William “Butch” Parten, Buford; daughters, Shirley Feather, Loganville, Linda Crowe and Judy Barclay, both of Bethlehem; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, January 18, at Smith Memory Chapel, with the Rev. Mike Peavy officiating. Burial was in Barrow Memorial Gardens.

Smith Funeral Home, Winder, was in charge of arrangements.
