Sybil West Allison, 92, of Gainesville, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at her residence.
Born in Dawson County, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Samuel A. West and Lillian Tabor West. She had lived in Gainesville for many years and was a graduate of North Georgia College, class of 1937. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gainesville. Mrs. Allison was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Franklin Allison; and sons, Richard Allison and Wayne Allison.
Survivors include a son, Blaine Allison, Flowery Branch; daughter, Wauneita Allison, Gainesville; son, Michael Allison; special friend, Tracy Reed, Braselton; grandchildren, Robert Buerke, Springfield, Mo., Natalie Brock, Gainesville, Fla., April Patel and Emily Allison, both of Buford, Carey Beaumel and Sydney Allison, both of Flowery Branch; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 6, at Mason & Ward Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Alta Vista Cemetery.
