GAINESVILLE - James Delma Allison, 80, died Monday, January 12, 2009, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born March 31, 1928, in Barnard, Kan., the son of the late James N. and Ella Kanady Allison. He was associated with Ballards Optical in Atlanta, prior to owning Allison Optician in Buckhead. Mr. Allison was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Atlanta Area Square Dance Callers Association, Georgia Callers Association, Caller Lab, Lanierland Car Club, and Georgia Dispensing Opticians.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Joyce Allison, Gainesville; daughters and son-in-law, Darlene and Mike Random, and Scarlett Luke, all of Gainesville; granddaughter and husband, Tammy and Jeffrey Reed, Ball Ground; grandson, Jody Random, Gainesville; great-grandchildren, Ariel Reed, Aurora Reed and Liam Random; sister and brother-in-law, Leona and Karl Bartholomew, Cleveland; brother, Russell Allison, Jefferson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 14, at the Christ Lutheran Church. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Andy Seibert officiated.
