Towe, Bennie

CARLTON - Bennie Edward Towe, 64, died Sunday, January 4, 2009.

A native of Clarke County, he was a son of the late Bertie Lou Whitfield and James Gordon Towe. He served in the Vietnam War in the United States Army and retired from Stanfield Air Systems after 30 years.

Survivors include his wife, Lillie Belle Johnson Towe; children, Virginia Lynn Webb, Crawford, Carla Jean Michael, Arnoldsville, Barbara Dianne Myers and Dennis Michael Dixon, both of Carlton, and Debbie Lucke, Florida; brothers, Bobby G. Towe, Arnoldsville, Harvey L. Towe, Watkinsville, and Harrison R. Towe, Arkansas; grandchildren, Letisha Hicks, Melissa Myers, Joshua R. Michael, Michael Dixon, Zachary Mason Webb, Joseph Clifford Webb Jr. and two other grandchildren.

Funeral services were Wednesday, January 7, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home with the Revs. Russell Bruce and Hoyt Johnson officiating. Burial was in Sandy Cross Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Stanley Johnson, Matt Matthews, Mike White, Jason Johnson, Mitch Allen, and Jimmy Green.
